Hello! I am Mary, Helen’s Great Niece, and below is a picture of us (I’m the smaller one) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in 1974ish.
All posts are based on travel journals, newspaper clippings, pilot logs, letters, and timelines of wheres and whens that Helen curated. She gave all that material to her nephew Bob (my uncle) to ‘do something with’ after decades of people pestering her to tell her stories. Bob heroically transcribed a ton of it (she wrote in a 2pt font), but when he got sick, it was all sent to me, the bookish-y one in the family. And here we are.
