Great Aunt Helen

Most of the lore in my family involves my Great Aunt Helen, and 100% justifiably so because the stories are about her piloting planes in the early 1930s…. Traveling around the world solo on a freight boat while WWII was percolating… Marrying a hot young race car driver 10 years her junior… Circumnavigating the world again decades later with her ex-husband’s recent widow… Living to be 98 years old, fiercely independent all the while.

In her 90s, she sorted her records meticulously, as family always encouraged her to tell her stories. I ended up with those so here they are!

LATEST STORIES

Hi! I’m Helen’s Great Niece, Mary. I was gifted her records and pictures and journals and I’m curating them for here.
